Should the U.S.A basketball olympic team allow college players to play?

i think yes becausecollegeplayer's have more to play for imagine J.J redick come averages 35.5 points agame heck yeah he going with the number 1 pick

Should the U.S.A basketball olympic team allowcollegeplayers to play?ncaa

HELL NO. OK LET ME EXPLAINE THIS. The 2 best players for collage last year in my opinion were Andrew Bogut and H. Warrick (i spelled that wrong probably) They both got drafted and they are ranked below the top 100. If ne1 remembers in collage warrick did these unhuman dunks over the defense, and bogut was just amazing. When u enter the NBA your opponents are unbelievably tall and skilled. Ussing some of the NBA's best players the US team had a hard time getting third place. If the best collage players in the US are ranked below the top 100 then there are 100 other players that deserve it more (to play at the olympics) You have to realize that collage bball players expect that the other team has 1 to 5 good players, they never expect that the whole team is that good. Also most of the NBA teams have players ranked below them and they still have a hard time going against them. If you put them against an olympic team thats like going against A team that has 15 players as good as shawn marion or Iverson or Billups or whoever you favorite player is. They never expect what is coming and are taken by suprise. If u did not understand that read it again cause it took me a long time to type this and I know Im right (if im wrong then give me 1 player that was ranked top 35 as a rookie)

Should the U.S.A basketball olympic team allowcollegeplayers to play?soccer ,nba teams

The US basketball team should try to field the best possible team they can. Selecting aging NBA stars that are not able to run with young NBA stars from other countries does nothing but make the US basketball team lose games.
I would take Redick and Morrison (from Gonzaga) in a heartbeat to play on the U.S. team.
they already did. Plus they need more Experince.
The answer is if they are good enough and they would potentially add a dimension to the team or could fill a role. For example if the US needed a three point bomber Reddick would be a candidate for the slot.
Yes.Why should the pros get all the glory.
yes!but only the talented ones...

I'm 28 and im going back to college I didn't finish. Do you think I'm to old to walk

I'm thinking about walking on the basketball team at a JUCO I still can play a little, I'm not in shape but I would have the whole first year of 08, To workout and play. I'm I to old

By the way, yes you are too old to play for college.

Which college player is most valueble to his team?

whichcollegebasketball player plays on a good team and carries the whole team on their shoulders?

Whichcollegeplayer is most valueble to his team?knicks

It has to be Kevin Durant. If this guy had an average supporting cast they would be a #1 seed and favored by many to win the title.

Whichcollegeplayer is most valueble to his team?sports ,nba teams

if your talking pure talent, then all the players above are excellent choices..but..without those players i feel those teams are all still very good. most important to his team in my opinion is randolh morris of ky..without his presence in the middle ky is absolutely horrible...also one of the most under rated players in the country. double and triple teamed night in and night out so his numbers dont jump out at you. ky barely made tourney this year...without morris..they dont make it... that pretty important to a team. also..if morris goes pro..you will see ky fall even farther off the ncaa map. prob wont make tourney next year without morris.
Kevin Durant is the best player in the NCAA
Definitely Durant. Texas isn't really very good, he just makes them look that way. I feel bad for him though, he's only a first half player. His scoring average goes down so much in the second half, he's practically useless when his legs give out from running all those 3's. If he played for a team that could give back just a little he'd be in way better shape. I won't lie, I'm really glad he's going to the NBA because if he gets much better atcollegeball, he's gonna tear everybody up, one-man team or not.
Drew Neitzel, PG, Michigan State

Ok... look at their team... their second best player is Goran Suton... who is that guy? he sucks, he didn't even average 10 ppg... yet Michigan State has gotten to the tournament as a 9 seed and beat Wisconsin AND Texas this year. Drew Neitzel carried this team on his back. He averaged 18 ppg and 4 apg, while shooting an amazing 41% from 3. Without Neitzel they would have missed the tournament, and even been on of the worst Big Ten teams. He has stepped up in big games with a number of times scoring more than 25 and 30 points in games.
you gotta go with one of the top players of the year, Durant or Oden. Sure their teams are good without them, but they are both dominant players whose numbers if missed would cause their teams not to have a chance at contending in the dance. If texas gets to the final four or does better than OSU (I have OSU going all the way), then I'd say Durant is the one.
Greg Oden Ohio State
Without a doubt, Kevin Durant of Texas.
I got to say Kevin Durant from Texas.
Mario Chalmers of Kansas... Wait no.... Kevin Durant of Texas....
Definately Kevin Durant from Texas. The guy is amazing, and will probably hands down win the Player of the year award, and only as a freshman.

If youve never seen him play, you dont know what ur missing. Check out some of his stats

Should I play basketball next year?

I played in 3rd grade throughout 8th grade and then didnt play in ninth or tenth grade... i love basketball and miss playing.. im planning on training all summer and hoping making varsity next year.. I would hope to continue basketball in college.. will me not playing for two years prevent this? I'm 5'3" 110 lbs.. female.. I understand I am undersized.. but I'm not going to let that stop me. Also, should I try to find an AAU team to play for over the summer or should I just train on my own?

Should I play basketball next year?nba all star

I absolutely love basketball it's been my life. Im a senior now and just finished an awesome season winning the district chamionship. One thing that i regret is never playing other sports that i played as a kid (baseball, football etc.). What I am trying to say is that you should absolutely go out next year and try out for the aau team or you will regret it. If for someone reason you do get cut from either team, use that as motivation. Get back at them next year. If you work very hard good things will happen.

Should I play basketball next year?tickets ,nba teams

You should NEVER give up basketball.
It is hard to grab the attention of coaches when you havent played and if skill ability isnt up to par, then your chances of playing varsity andcollegeball are slim. I suggest you continue working out and possibly playing in summer leagues to help you gain some skill. IF you dont make varsity, then dont take that as you failing, but continue on with it and have fun.
Sure why not basketball is a fun sport and should be enjoyed by anyone tall or short big or small. Think about playing again cause you don't know what your missin
your size doesn't matter cuz i am 5'3 n i also weigh 110 pounds. n next year i will be a freshmen. but whenever i was an 8th grader i was bumed up to the varsity team. training all summer would be a best thing to do because u need to stay in shape if u want to make it for varsity. well my question to u is howcome u stopped playing basketball in the first place?? it's proabaly none of my business. so u should play basketball next year cuz it keeps u in fight and in nice shape. it's really up to u cuz u also gotta keep up with ur grades n maintain at least a 3.0 average.
If you are serious about playing in college, whether it is big or small, you need to join an AAU team this summer. Just being on the team is not good enough, you have to be a start or at least first off the bench. The difference between high school ball andcollegeis mind blowing. I tried out for NC State and could have walked on at a smaller school. You have to train like you really want it. Your size has nothing to do with your ability. Look at Spud Webb, he was about your size and he is an NBA All-Star. You need all the exposure you can get and by playing AAU you will get the exposure you need, but only if you are on the court. Good luck.
yeah, why not?
Yes
it really doesn't matter if you are undersized or not what matters is if you have the will to tough it out , offseason, on season, it dont matter. i played for a couple of years, didnt play for the next year, still made the team because i had the will. not many kids these days have the will but that is what high school coachs look for, not tallent, not size, the will. Now thecollegecoaches look for talent and if you have the will to play your coach will work with you. P.S.( Good Luck)
Yes.
Why not? You love to play it, so just do it. Just because your undersized doesn't mean you can't play. There are plenty of NBA and WNBA players that are not tall. Pursue your dreams.
Yes.

You have a lifetime love and you should pursue it. While there is a possibility that you might not make it pro, you play - first and foremost because you love the game and enjoy it. Never compromise your dreams.

There are a million little ways to work on improvement and sharpening your skills. Start working on them now. But also, try to find some ways to challenge your skills so you grow from where you are now.

Look for camps like the Coach Wootten camp. The best way to improve is to find someone who is an expert that can critique your weaknesses and give you areas to improve and round out your game. How about asking any former coaches to meet with you for a while?

Do you have any friends who are now playingcollegeball? Followup with them and find out how they transitioned tocollegeball. You need to be aggressive in your pursuit of info just as you must be aggressive on the court.

Play, absolutely, PLAY!!!

Good Luck!
PLAY PLAY PLAY!!! They can measure your height and weight but they can NEVER MEASURE YOUR HEART AND DETERMINATION TO WIN!!!! PLAY PLAYPLAY!!!
Always do what you feel is right, you should def play basketball. If you don't try you'll regret it the rest of your life.
ye! :)
I don't know the size of your school but if you really want to try out, go ahead. If anything, you probably may make the jv team but practice, practice, practice.
Of course you should try out for the team...it IS something you say you love. I mean the absolute worst thing that could happen is what...you don't make the team. However, if you don't try out, you DEFINITELY won't make the team and you will be mad at yourself for not, at least, trying.
yeah

go for it!!!

that's a great sport and if u love to play basketball then u should pursue that dream. :)
try out...work hard!

Give up basketball or not? The thing is that, I dont think its going to help me college wise..?

I am so frustrated right now..Alright.. So I am going to be a junior and its going to be a serious year... I play football, basketball, and track. All sports take alot of time and I am always very busy.. I could train hard and make the basketball team.. but I kind of dont want to make it because then I would have no time for school... I m shooting for UPenn and I know I can make it if this year goes well---without basketball, I know I can do so much more academic wise, but without basketball Im not as well rounded and basketball makes me happy. The thing is TIME, I am training so hard this summer and I have to study for SATs and work out for Football and Im doing this project... anyways theres alot to the point that I am very busy....So I can either try to do it all.. and play basketball or I can give up basketball and do everything else so much better. Should I give it up?

for me i couldn't even imagine giveing up basketball

i can't say i am good, but i would feel like i was completley letting down my team (we have just enough players to play)i say that u have to do what you love

i love basketball so i would obviously say im playing but it is up to you
it's ur decision. mayb u could b a basketball player. or u could be wut u wanna b when u grow up and still play basketball. but it's ur decision. if u wanna play basketball, i'd say go 4 it.
Somecollegeplayers have played more than one sport, one on scholarship and the other as a walk on. If you want to try and walk on in basketball that's usually alright but the hard part with that is that if you get injured playing one, football for example, you may not get the chance to play the other. Track should be the first odd man out.

College because they go out and play their hearts out for the name on their jersey not for the money. Some players in the NBA play for fun but 99.9% play for money.

There is an age requirement in the NFL.

Is only playing one year ofcollegeball for most nba players coming to the nfl?nba power rankings ,nba teams

The NFL has a rule that players have to be three years out of high school to go pro. The NBA's rule is that you have to be one year out of high school. So, there's no chance that players leave as early for football as basketball.

I'm not quite sure what the question is, but I hope I answered it.
Yeah...It happens in basketball...players going pro after 1 year, or in some cases, right out of high school...but you see football players play at LEAST 3 years before going to the NFL...There is an NFL age rule...have to be AT LEAST 3 years removed from high school graduation to be in the NFL...
If a basketball player comes out of high school, straight to the pros, it's not as bad, because basketball relies more on talent. As opposed to football, which is a more learned sport. If a football player went from high school to the NFL, he'd get destroyed.

What is the best college for me to go to play basketball, so i have a good chance of going to the nb

Duke would be a good choice. They're always good and always on TV. Plus, Coach K. is a great coach.

And even better, Duke is a great school to get a degree from. Even if you get hurt or don't make it to the NBA at least you'll have something to fall back on.

What is the bestcollegefor me to go to play basketball, so i have a good chance of going to the nba?nba 08

You're not going to the NBA, you know why? You have to ask people on Yahoo answers whatcollegeis good if you want to get drafted. Look pal, unless the local newspaper can't stop singing your praises, either play basketball for fun or try another sport, like soccer. Most potential talent should know by their freshman year if they're going to be successful. The scouts andcollegecoaches will be all over you! Most future NBA players in high school just dominate their games. No one can touch them. Even the NBA washouts who either only get 10-day contracts or don't last in the NBA were big high school andcollegestars. HUGE stars.

Just play for fun. Tell your friends not to worry. Who knows, if somehow, your play is good enough, you might be able to play incollegeand the NBA. But given the odds, it's not anything to lose sleep over!

If youre great than Duke if your pretty good go to a Division one school with players that you can outshine and look like the best.

A team that may have a great player but not a player that plays like you. If you are a handler dont go to a team that already has a better handler.
Go either to a small school in a weak conference where you can dominate the competition and put up huge numbers

or

Go to a big name school that's always on TV.

Your best bet is to go overseas, add -vic to your last name, and get paid to play.

By the time you're eligible for the draft, NBA scouts will think you're a sweet Euro and highly overrate you.

You might even be a lottery pick!
a division 1 school that will give you playing time and national exposure...if your that good

What D2 colleges have the highest number of basketball walkons?

My son is a high school junior and is passionate about basketball and a good ball player. If he doesn't get any 'looks' (only 5' 10") in the next year, anything he can do to increase his chances? He doesn't care whatcollegehe attends (if not D2, then D3), but he just wants to play basketball and I'm wondering if there are any stats out there that indicate highest number of 'walk ons' over a time period, or other tips. He has good grades too!

What D2 colleges have the highest number of basketball walkons?hockey

I was all county in high school and MVP of my team and I didn't even have a chance of making a D2collegeteam. My league was very good in high school including two D1 players one in which went to Kentucky. Division 2 is mainly for the great athletes with out a whole lot of skill that coaches think they can make better. I was offered to play at many D3 schools but didn't even have a chance at a last place division 2 team.

What D2 colleges have the highest number of basketball walkons?nba street v3 ,nba teams

We have a 6'6 Center at our very small (around 450 ppl) high school, and he is being welcomed with open arms to a D3 school over here. He's not very good, but D3 will accept mostly anyone that was good at the high school level. As for D2, i'm not really sure. I just tried to give you an impression of how it is around here, I know I didn't answer most of your question, just giving some input.

College suggestions?

I was thinking about acollegeto go to for basketball I would like suggestions.Preferably in Illinois. I dont want it to be hard to make the bball team.

College suggestions?baseball

If you have to ask that means thecollegescouts are not already recruiting you. And that means it won't matter where you go because you're probably not going to make the team as a walk-on except at the smallest Division 3 or NAIA schools. So: if playing at sports is not going to have any career value for you (and even if you were a top prospect this would unfortunately likely be the case,) the best thing to do is start at your local communitycollegebecause it will be dirt cheap and you can maybe get some basic required courses out of the way in a non-threatening environment and then decide if you want to continue toward a 4-year degree. If you just want to play hoops for the fun of it, great. If you can get some good coaching and develop a game maybe you can hook on at some small school somewhere but don't count on doing anything more than that. If you haven't already established yourself as a big-time recruit by the time you're 14 or 15 years old it's just not going to happen. Sorry but that's just the way it is.

College suggestions?nba playoff schedule ,nba teams

It really depends on how good of a high school player you are. If your an exceptional player I would have to say Arizona, North Carolina, Duke, or Kansas (to name a few). If your a good player I would try to stay closer to home, some of the places I would suggest would be Depaul, Illinois, Illinois St., Northwestern, University of Chicago, Loyola, and Butler. If your just above average I would look at schools close to home in the Horizon League -- Valparaiso, Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Wright State, Detroit, Cleavland State, and Youngstown state. Otherwise I would suggest on attending juniorcollegefor a couple of years, developing your skills and then transferring to one of the above schools your sophomore or junior year.

A lot of this has to do with your ability as a high school athlete and what each school as to offer for you: Scholarships, location, prestige, and each schools individual academic program... the first four all have great basketball teams and academic programs.
Don't choose a school based on the b-ball team. Choose it on the overall quality of education. Check out the Princeton review and pick something in the top 50.

If all you want is acollegewith an easy team to get on choose a communitycollegenearby that has a b-ball team.

Georgetown lost to them by 4 pts early in the NCAA's, but other than that, no one's been able to stay in a game with them. They are playing the best of any of the final four teams.

They are big and athletic, and Noah can dominate a game on both ends of the floor if he wants to.

Complacency is the only thing that can derail the Gators at this point.

I think the florida gators will take it. What do you think?nba playoff bracket ,nba teams

While I believe that any one of the final four teams could take the title this year. I'm going with cinderella - George Mason to win it all.
LSU all the Way!!!!!!!!!!! Sorry, but I think Florida is a bit overrated but not as much as Mich. St.

Dont get me wrong, they are a good team and they have played way better than I thought!!!

How many years of varsity basketball can you play in a community college?

2 years and that is all and then 2 more years at a 4 year school

How many years of varsity basketball can you play in a community college?college basketball

Communitycollegeis 2 years, so I'd say 2 years.

Do I sound good enough to play D1 college basketball?

Short, about 5'11, 6'0 with shoes on, white, with a 21 inch vertical. Mad handles, insanely quick like iverson, deadly jump shot, great defensive player, pretty strong, about 157 pounds, great passer, can run the fast break well and move without the ball. middle school shooting percentage 66%, avg 21 ppg, 5 assst, 3 steals, 4 rebounds. plays with a lot of heart, practices a ton. Freshman next yr. Will be about 6'0

Do I sound good enough to play D1collegebasketball?nba playoffs

You got four years of high school ahead of you. You prolly need to add a few pounds of muscle. Middle school basketball means nothing.

Do I sound good enough to play D1collegebasketball?nba basketball ,nba teams

1. What does being white have to do with anything?

2. Anyone can sound good when they are saying things like "iverson speed" and "deadly jump shot"

3. Spend your time practicing to get to D-1 instead of asking these people (most of whom know absolutely nothing) if you can make it or not.
You sound good enough that if you keep your same practice regimene or even up it then you could go D-1. I'd really have to see you play to decide for sure but with those numbers I'd say you have a shot.

I would like to go to a division 1 college to play basketball, how do i get there?

I am a freshman, and I am 6 foot 4 inches tall, I play center right now. I want to get a scholarship to a D-1collegeto play basketball, then hopefully eventually become a professional. Some people don't believe in me or my dream but i'm willing to work at it 110%. So my question is what can i do to get better, and is it possible to be a 6 foot 4 inch center [if i dont' grow anymore] and get a scholarship. I see my only way as getting into acollegeas becoming a foward. What should i do??

I would like to go to a division 1collegeto play basketball, how do i get there?nba.com

You realize how hard it is to go D-1?

- What good is you're still a freshman...you probably won't grow much more so you gotta give up the post moves and work on ballhandling and perimeter shooting. A 6'4" frame is perfect for a shooting guard. You must shoot at least 300 jumpshots a day...I'm not kidding!!! YOU MUST!!

- You MUST play hoop year round...not just winter. Sign up for AAU ball in the spring. You play many tournaments and it's great experience. After AAU go to summer camps and clinics. Work on your ballhandling and perimeter shooting.

In fall before winter hoop starts there are fall leagues...join them and play.

- As a freshman, you're ready to hitthe weights. Lift with your school BB team or your school football team. I guarantee the footabll coach won't mind. Plus you need the supervised training. Lift weight 3 times a week.

-Conditioning- RUN!!! Jog 3 to 4 miles, 3 to 4 times a week.

This training is good for duration. You also need to be quick so jumprope everyday and run sprints. Search internet for Plyometrics...this is specific training for quickness. You need

quickness, not height, in the game of basketball these days.

-Eat right...maintain healthy lifestyle....get your sleep...do not stay up late watching movies, playing video games, internet..etc.

Hang with positive people....people that will help you in your goal. People that believe in your dream. Avoid friends who do drugs or drink alcohol. Don't burn yourself out with hoop.

Take time off from training to relax and do other things that make you happy!!

Good Luck

I would like to go to a division 1collegeto play basketball, how do i get there?baseball ,nba teams

Live in the weight room! Get faster and stronger. Play against better and taller players.
well it would help if you played on a well known team so you get more exposure and so that more scouts come to see you. but if not, then you better work hard and put up some great #s, but if no scouts visit you, make a highlight tape of yourself and send it to the schools you want to go to and hope they give you a call or something.
Hey, good question. I think it'll be hard for you to be a center incollegebut you might make a very tough forward. I'd suggest finding your knack and try to perfect it. If you are a great defender then keep getting better at defense. This is not to say that you shouldn't work on your overall game but it's good to have an identity. Also, talk to your coach about how you can start inserting a perimeter game to your skill set. Since you play center for your school I'm assuming your a great or decent help side defender. (This is an awesome quality for a guard/forward) Also, remember bruce bowen played center throughout high school andcollegeand look at him. In closing, don't necassarioly focus on going to a D1 school, take the bext opportunity given to you and work hard. Sometimes you have to take the road less traveled to get where you want to be. I.E - Division II or III . Keep working hard at your overall game and watch basketball...listen to what some of the commentators have to say about different players. Good Luck!!!
If you don't grow anymore you will be a guard. But I would think you'll at least get another inch or 2 if you're only 14/15. Basically I would suggest working on your ball handling skills and jump shots more so than posting up and down low moves. But you could keep growing a lot so you never know. Some guys get drafted into the nba at age 18/19 and are STILL growing ha ha.

Just do your best.
Take the Taxi, it's cheaper.

Would it be a good idea to walk-on to play basketball at a college?soccer ,nba teams

As long as you're ready to walk right back off as soon as they laugh at you

Good luck!
If you are good enough to make the team, why would you not want to play on acollegebasketball team.
It depends if your family can afford to pay forcollegeand you are receiving scholarship offers from smaller schools. See Michael Jordan's son. He could have gotten full or partial scholarships at some smaller schools, but decided to walk on at Illinois for the competition and atmosphere.
Your question is not detailed enough.

Did you had any good games against guys that are going tocollegenext year?

Do you play against grown men that are professional overseas or recently retired? I mean really, who are you playing against that leads you to believe that you are good enough to make the squad? Even a Division II school will have talented players.

Are you prepared to be a "practice player" for at least the next 2 years? That is assuming you are a Freshman incollegeor still in high school now.

Do you really want to use up your studying time at practice? It won't be anything like high school. There is a lot more weight lifting and you will be playing against grown men in top physical condition in practice. Don't take it lightly, there are all kinds of people out there playing ball.

Good luck.

Biggest prospect coming out of college basketball not named oden or durant???

Biggest prospect coming out ofcollegebasketball not named oden or durant???nba all star game ,nba teams

ya theres mad talent they say its prob the deepest its been in a while u got the whole florida squad guy from georgetown higget guy from texas am law they all have to announce it though florida did then you have the guard from ohio state then the guard from louisville pretty much if u watched the tourney would of seen all the talent
corey brewer (flordia) arron afllalo(ucla), nick young (usc), glen "big baby" davis(lsu), taureen green (flordia) acie law(texas a and m), al horford (flordia), joakim noah (florida), jared dudley (boston college), mustafa shakur (arizona), eric mayonr (virginia common union...the dude that beat duke this year in the last second),

This year's draft is deeep...there are a few other names but i don't remember them
People forget about Hibbert, but I think he has a good shot in the NBA. Horford and Brewer from Florida both look pretty good, but the guy I think will be a great pick is Acie Law. He has more experience than most of the other guys coming into the draft, and despite that missed layup in the Memphis game, he is the most clutch player in this draft. He is a hard worker and I believe he will be one of the top point guards in the league in a couple years.
the biggest impact player besides oden or durant will be Brewer from the Gators... His 6ft 9 size will put him a good 2 to 3 inches taller than the opponents he'll be matched up against... Can anyone say a more athletic Tayshaun Prince
I think Corey Brewer from Florida could be a good shot at the number 3 position. He's a good all around player, moves the ball well, can hit the threes, play multiple positions, and at 6'9" is a good height for the NBA. On the other hand, he's thin and that hurt him in the draft. Also, Acie Law IV will be a good choice, as well as Joakim Noah and Al Horford if they go. I just read the other articles, and Dylan K, you are right on the money with Hibbert. I totally forgot about him, even though he's one of my favorite players. OOPS! And Glen Davis from LSU is also a great prospect. He reminds me a lot of Charles Barkley--a fat boy that can JUMP! In regard to the person who said something about the guard from Louisville goint to the NBA, are you talking about Edgar Sosa, the freshman from New York? Well, I sure hope he goes pro. He is a ball hog--that's the only reason he ade so many points in the tournament. I just call him "Wonder Boy".
Jeff Green, Corey Brewer, Al Horford, Roy Hibbert
Personally I am a big fan of Hibbert (Georgetown). If they can control his fouls, and work on his finesse a little bit more, then I think that he can be a beast in the paint

The absence of a shot clock, which had been utilized during the season but not in the tournament, enhanced Villanova's chances.

Definately Pistol Pete Maravich. I'd put Jerry West, Larry Bird and Rick Barry up near the top as well. Bit Pistol is #1.

Who is the greatestcollegebasketball shooter of all time?knicks ,nba teams

It is out of pistol Pete and JJ Redick. They both could shoot the ball from well past the three point line. I can't see any one else who were better.
I have to agree with everyone who names Pistol Pete Maravich, though Jerry West was also a very good pure shooter. JJ Redick wasn't even the best of his era - Adam Morrison was better.

Kobe and Lebron didn't even playcollegebasketball, so they don't even count.

If you don't believe me about Maravich, simply check out this link:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pete_Maravi...

I believe he truly helped change the game of basketball to the more colorful game which it is today. He could shoot, pass, and dribble with a flair quite rare - even by today's standards.
Wayne Turner
Neither Telfair nor Stevenson playedcollegeball, either. Yeesh. Reddick? All-time?
Without question, Pistol Pete Maravich. He averaged 44 points per game over hiscollegecareer and that was before the 3-point line. Any other answer to this question would be absurd.
Glen Rice and Steve Alford shot a high percentage.
Either Lebron, Kobe, KG, Jermaine O'Neal, Sebastian Telfair, Shawn Livingston, all of those guys were great in college.
It has to be Pistol Pete Maravich with the help, of course, of his father/coach, Press Maravich. then there's Jerry West, Rick Barry, Larry Bird, Steve Alford, Redick %26amp; Morisson.

Strongest college conference in football, baseball, basketball, or any sport?

I say the ACC is the strongest conferance incollegesports. With schools that include Florida State, Miami, Virginia Tech, Boston College, North Carolina, Duke, NCST, GA Tech, and Clemson how could you go wrong? Both the men and women sports programs are strong in all arenas. Which conference do you think can even compete with the ACC overall and why?

Strongestcollegeconference in football, baseball, basketball, or any sport?nba draft picks

The Big Ten is the power conference:

Men's Basketball: Typically 7 to 8 strong make the NCAA Tournament each year. Indiana, Michigan State and Illinois are virtual locks every year. Few schools in the country can boast as many as 5 National Championships won by the Hoosiers. Michigan, Iowa, Wisconsin, Purdue, Ohio State and Minnesota all have impressive resumes. Consider the recruiting class that the Buckeyes have coming in for the 2006 season. Greg Oden...does any more need to be said?

Football: All out elite. Michigan, Ohio State, Penn State are always mentioned in anycollegefootball conversation. If you pick up any 2006 prediction magazine you will see Ohio State listed in the top 5 for winning the next title.

Men's Soccer: Indiana has won 7 National Championships. That says it all.

This is just a sampling of what I think easily shows that the Big Ten is, if nothing else, on par with the talent of the ACC.

endurance is important, but quickness is essential. it doesnt matter if you can run for days if your opponent beats you off the first step. i ran cross country and track throughout my high school tenure, but on the court i got beat by kids who were quicker. but still, enduracnce is pretty important, especially in the 4th. so do like 2 miles everyday, run, dont jog, cuz u dont jog in the game. for quickness, squats and power cleans and lunges.

Im a sophmore in highschool. and im playing Junior Varsity next year for BASKETBALL?basketball shoes ,nba teams

nope....srry bro....i play varsity ball for my school and endurance is important, the most of all physical aspects, but its been proven that you've gotta run at least 30 minutes non-stop before your body really starts to work.....I'd say find more time than just 20 min. before school....add about 15 extra to that in the mornings and run 45 min to an hour before you head inside for the night....that's if you're really dedicated....you gotta put in the effort to get the results.....
most likely yeah usually when i go to the gym i usually run for 15 min and then power walk for about 15 also. who knows then maybe next year you could be on VARSITY
basketball is a game of quickness and endurance u have u do an exercise where u sprint a certain length then jog for a certain time

College Basketball is great?

listen i hate Duke as much as anyone but i would like to see them make a great run in this tournament so it can prove my point i have been telling people all along. That the ACC is the best and hardest conference to play in. All year long i have heard that the Pac 10 is so great and that all the teams will make good runs in the NCAA tournament. Well what happens 3 of the teams got knocked out in the 1st round. Which leaves 3 teams still remaining in the tournament which is as much as the ACC teams have playing in the second day but with only 4 bids. So when are people going to admit that the PAC 10 is an overrated conference.

Talk about over-rated why is Duke a #2 seed??? They should have lost to Belmont and are in trouble again today? A deep run in the tournament? They aren't making it out of the West- and should they be lucky enough to make it to the Elite Eight to face UCLA- they'll be in trouble.

Other than Carolina not sure that this year there is another team in the ACC worth talking about. The Pac-10 have both UCLA and Stanford.

West Virgina #7 and is still in (suprising Duke)

Big East has 7 of 8 teams still in.

ACC has 3 of 4 teams still in. and Duke is losing and Miami will probably lose tomorrow so by the end of the second round there will probably be 1 of 4 still in.

you tell me which is better
never acc is overrated to
pac 10 is overrated, so is acc. Big east is the most challenging conference, look at what we did yesterday.

only one team out of our eight lost, and that was in double overtime. villanova beat clemson, who is one of the best in the acc. Long story short, big east is the best.

That question has nothing to do withcollegebasketball...

College basketball????

Why do basketball players go tocollegeor university. What do you learn and is it just you study a subject or play full-time basketball and what colleges are the biggest in the states in terms of best 4 basketball criteria.

College basketball????nba season

Basketball players attendcollegefor the same variety of reasons that other students do. Some are there almost solely for the opportunity to showcase their talent and springboard hopefully to professional NBA. Others, are there most particularly to further their study and fully intend to pursue the degree for the field they will pursue when theircollegebasketball career is over. Some attend with both options in mind and are dilligently studying in the event their basketball career abruptly ends or becomes non viable. Others have no idea what they want to do but are offered scholarships and choose to take advantage and let the cards fall as they may. Some are remarkable athletes but very poor students, some are excellent academically but really not talented enough to play beyondcollegelevel. Most university teams will have a mixture of intent amongst their team.

What the guy above me said, and plus you can't enter the NBA until you are one year removed from High School, so what else are you going to do with that year? Might as well go tocollegefor a year and live that life for awhile.

Just this year!

I think the team was Savannah State and they finished 0-28. That sucks pretty bad. I think that they were only the second team to ever do this and the first in like 50 years. I hope this answers your question.
